Manifold Problems.

Hi is any one able to tell me if the manifold on a 2.2 petrol is secured using steel inserts.
I have two that have become loose and therefore tap whilst cold on removing one there was what i thought to be a helicoil attached to the bolt, i have how ever been told that this could be a factory fitted steel insert and will now indeed need a heli coil to make good a repair is this so. Many thanks guys Steve.  Undecided
