Im just wondering are the shocks and springs in a estate omega the same as a saloon omega (01 - 03 model)

Shocks are definatly longer as are the springs I believe.

different length, and different fixing at the bottom end.

Yes,

MV6 are different to the rest of the range and drop and stiffen the car slightly.

Recommended are genuine GM, or Bilstein B4's

And the genuine GM ones are BOGE, which is owned by Sachs nowadays  Thumbs Up! You can get BOGE ones with all the same stamps as originals  for a lot less money than the same parts from the dealers, at least that's the situation in Finland  Thumbs Up!

yes they are longer as  i just changed mine and was sent the saloon springs and they make a hell of a noise over pot holes as they top out Angry an expensive lesson learned just ordered a new set of b4's for the back for €120
