suspension woes update
06. May 2011 at 20:28

so i went off to opel today and they looked at the banging rear suspension issue turns out to be my fault as i put the normal size rear shocks in and irmscher springs so they are too long and botooming out over pot holes e.t.c Sad and he checked the rear donuts and wishbones and semms to think all is o.k there and doesn't seem to think 1 degree out on the rear camber is of consiquence but upon checking the donuts the left one seemed to be alot easier to move than the right so after my holiday they will be replaced, does anyone know which shocks should be used with the irmscher springs?
TIA,
Rich.

B4s take a 30 mill drop all day long. Pot holes wouldn't deck the suspension out would they? Surely the wheel would drop into the hole meaning the shock would top out? Bottom out would occur under full compression, like in a corner then hitting a bump( not a hole). Something doesn't add up still.

Irmscher springs give 30 mill drop afaik, so you need shocks that will cope with that lower ride hight. Irmscher shocks obviously, if you can find them.
B4s do work with irmscher springs. I have them on mine, as recommended by several others here.

Not aware of "normal" size B4 s either, one size only I thought.

I did notice when fitting mine that there is s bit of a clang when the shock returns to full length (tops out) after compressing by hand. Fully compressed seems well damped bottomed out.

What is the ride hight now with new springs is it lower than stock?
