As above

Who do I have to notify when I fit the lpg kit ?

DVLA ?
Insurance ?
Do I have to get the V5 updated ?

The coppers / VOSA  tend to setup check points round here on a regular basis so just want to get everything right  Thumbs Up!

Last thing I need is the car been taken of the road  Sad

You definately need to let your insurance know, as it is obviously classed as a modifcation. If you don't tell em & have an accident you just know they will find a way out of covering you if you haven't told em.
Quite a lot of insurers these days will ask for a certificate too, to say its been installed to COP11. If its a DIY install then you can get one by taking it to a LPG installer & letting them check it over, then they'll issue you with one (for a fee).

Same with DVLA as it now runs on a different fuel and should have this changed on the log book. (If I remember rightly when your tax is due it does make it about £10-£15 cheaper too).

The key is to tell the insurance.

Requiring a 'certificate' (note, certificates aren't produced any more, it goes on an electronic register/database) is a grey area, but some insurance companies insist on it.  Probably best to get it certificated anyway.

DVLA require you to inform them its now Duel Fuel. They require proof, either in the form of the bill for the conversion, or I send them the acknowledgement that its on the LPG register.

If you get an inspecton report and DVLA ask you to send it in, REMEMBER TO PHOTOCOPY IT FIRST. I sent the DVLA the original, and they thought it was a copy and shredded it Tongue
