May 2011 at 19:02 I have an oil leak from this gasket and TIS states removing the oil level indicator when changing the lower oil sump pan gasket!! is it necessary? In the pics seems to be a rod (from indicator) going down the sump!!! Thanks in advance.

Mine was glued on with grey sealant and that's what I used to glue it back on with. The oil level switch is bolted to the sump with a couple of M6 bolts. Careful of the wiring, it's likely to be brittle. Wink

The socket is pushed through the upper sump from below and held in place by a large circlip. I didn't change the o-ring on mine when I cleaned out the sump a couple of weeks ago but it seems to be oil tight so far..............
