hiya guys was out with my family in the mig, we stopped and on restart the cars little car light with spanner came on , i switched her off and restarted all was fine , then we called for a swift half on restart now engine light is on but car still runs spot on  Cry any ideas    cheers Thumbs Up!

Need to read the engine codes, which isnt self doable on the 2.2 normally

(neither pedal trick or paperclip test usually work)

Where are you based, may be someone local who will plug in a code reader for you?

we have a vauxhall specialist who has the tech 2 stuff will take it to him monday , am not far from u mate , but why is car running normally?

could be as simple as cats reading above threshold, or could be a sensor not quite right.

Some things will cause limp mode, some are almost transparent


Local to me?  whos your specialist?  I can always do code reading if you want  Thumbs Up!

He is known on here as a tech2 user who knows what he is doing If its who I think it is  Thumbs Up!

afaik he isnt.....but he has been used by a fair few people in that direction.

To my knowledge, he knows what he is doing  Thumbs Up!  A rarity with tech 2 holders!

confused.com started my car this morning and no lights on, could there have been a fault which has cleared itself, Thumbs Up!

there could.....but the reason is stored in the ECU, possibly for a limited time, and personally, I would like to know why, before the same item causes me to need a breakdown truck  Thumbs Up!
