Advice sort for springs for ex police 3.2 special
15. Jul 2011 at 18:22

Apologises if this has already been asked, as I've not been on here for a while.

Mig failed it's Mot today.  The offside rear coil spring has broken, one of the weak points on the mig I know.

However, as it's a 3.2 special I believe the coil springs were different to the Mv6?  Can anyone please advise on where I can get a pair of rear springs with the correct specification to replace mine. And any part numbers which I can quote directly.

Not really wanting to go to the stealers as I KNOW I'll pay over the odds for them!!  Shocked

Pm your reg to andyc on here for a price. I don't think you'll get the correct springs outside vx. And even then as you say they may not be on trade club for that spec.

A very long shot might be allgerman parts as they can get some shocks for omega. Defo a long shot though.

Or a wanted ad in test zone and Jimbob might move it to parts section for you. Might need the ident number from andyc or of the spring itself.

You're not alone bro' my MV6 failed for both rear springs, be prepared for a painful quote from Vauxhall! I said stuff that, fitted a lowering kit and it cost half the price.
When I told the insurance, they gave me money back because the parts I used were cheeper...

Chris
Thanks for that, I've pm'd Andy.  Just wait to see what he comes back with ?

Dave
If Andy comes back with a 'no go' or the springs are too expensive, I may just go the lower spring kit, as it maybe cheaper for x4 aftermarket spring kit.  Eibach are supposed to do a decent kit, just the hassle of getting all of them done  Roll Eyes.

It took me half a day on my drive, I just got the spring kit as the police shocks are also up-rated.
I think the car only went down another 12mm, sits perfectly now.... I should get some pic's up...

Thanks for the offer G.  I've found a place online that is selling some new Boge one's.  Just trying to find out if the Ref No. that JB gave me was for Saloon or Estate version.  To be honest, due to the hassle of changing them and rears being prone to breaking after time, rather go with new ones with warranty - Nothing personal  Thumbs Up!
