Facelift car? It opens from the switch on the dash or from the button on the fob AFAIK.  Wink

Confirmed - if it's a facelift there is no external way to open the boot except the key fob.  From inside the car, the button by the radio has to be held in for a few seconds.

Should be a small lever at the back of the handle which pushes down on the mech to release it

there looks to be a small silver lever that moves with the handle but it wont push down on the mchanism to release it seems as if there is too much movement with it is if its got a part missing

is the lock horizontal or vertical?
horizontal = locked & stays locked when the the rest of the central locking operates
vertical = boot locks & unlocks with the rest of the car.

Never had an estate, but can't see why it'd be different.
