Viceroy restoration
11. Aug 2011 at 12:50

A good friend of mine recently bought one of the 6 remaining Viceroy V6's.  Amazingly its was in great condition except for the front wings and the lacquer deliminating.  Over the past few weeks he has been putting this right and is posting his progress on Total carlton for those interested:

http://totalcarlton.com/forums/index.php?PHPSESSID=a5fb89bd86970eb622bc999162066...

He also has a mint, unrestored mk1 Carlton 2.2 CD and a 2.6 Diplomat which he has rebuilt.

If it's stuck, force it.  If it breaks, it needed replacing anyway........

Owned a Viceroy myself for a few years.Nice old bus it was, I really liked it. I had it in the late 80,s/ early 90,s and it was quite rare even then.
Not a v6 by the way, but (the better) straight six engine. Thumbs Up!

I stand corrected - straight six it is!  Seems I am unable to write the V6 without a V in front these days!

Blimey, not 100% certain but I think I owned that car briefly many years ago.

Nice cruiser but it wasn't a good car to us.

I can't believe there are only 6 left.

If you can verify that you owned it please let me know - my mate would be very keen to hear about it!  He bought it from a guy in Middlesbrough?

Can't. Never took any photos of it, never kept any documentation. To be honest I was glad to see the back of it

That structual mod to the Monza is truely shite!

...

The key reason they use pressed steel plate is to ensure that there is some flex. That box section is likely to cause cracking of other areas so not good at all!
