I came across a very cheap set of leather seats - however my car is a saloon, and the seats are from an estate..

I was told the rear seats and door panels wont fit in the saloon.
But can anyone explain to me what the difference is. I was thinking of modifying the seats to fit somehow??

The rear seat back is completely different on the estate. It has runners on the rear so it can be locked in the down position to give a totally flat load area. The saloon has extra sections on the sides of the seat back, which the estate doesn't.

The rear door cards are interchangable between saloons and estates. It's only the top frame and glass area of the rear doors that are different.

Yes it's clear to see on pictures that the design and function of the rear seats are not the same.. however in my opinion they should be able to fit physically, as the cars are same size between the doors?
I would't do it the other way around though, as you then would use the function of the seats folding down, when you need the extra space in the estate..

btw the complete cabin is up for only £125 think thats a bargain anyway..?

Not particularly. Last Elite facelift leather I sold for £110, and that was last year.

The seats need to be from the same era - see the posts in FAQ, else you'll get into all sorts of trouble with airbags, heaters etc.

Leather is so common, I'd buy the right ones....   ....if I wanted leather. Leather is horribly uncomfortable, hot and sweaty in summer, cold in winter....   ....the most comfy Omega I've owned was my old Elite 2.5TD with cloth.

Rear saloon base is deeper , wider and a totally different shape . Estate base will not fit as pick up points for securing / locking brackets are in the wrong place and it is again shaped for the mid hinge .

I recently fitted a MV6 interior to mine and the seller inadvertantly sent me a saloon base. There was no way that it would fit even using stretch clamps to try and force it in deep enough to align the securing clips. The seller sent me the correct estate base ( thanks dieseld4  ) and it clipped straight in.
It would seem that going the other way works, ie fitting estate into saloon so good luck and let us know how it goes .
