What is the general consensus on Bridgestone Potenza's in 235 45 17 on an Omega?

I've had them on several front/4wd cars in the past and thought they were excellent!!  Thumbs Up!

I use them(adrenaline).. they are really grippy for both braking and cornering.. and  have very good results on tests..  other potenza models are also  successful.. but like all other tires even they have deep threads they fade within time.. mine are on the beginning of 4th year (5-6mm thread depth) but slowly started to loose grip..

Re grip levels Not a patch on sc3... Although I'm comparing them with sc3 on a wider rim of 245 40 18... And can't remember which potenza I had, there are various compounds/sorts I balieve?

But then if that's a fair comparison, which it probably isn't, potenza will certainly last longer. Depends on your expectations. Certainly not a bad tyre. Thumbs Up!

Although certainly on like rim sizes, I would choose sc3 over them every time, as I had sc3 previously on my previous omega on stock rims of 235 45 17.

Does anyone know how much the Bridgestone Potenza's are a corner nowadays?

I randomly figured that , if I wash the tires with detergent they grip very well for a period.. reason I frequently visit mechanc friend (I know him from childhood) and the tires covered with oil from the front of his shop  Sad

I have Proxes and in either wet or dry I find they grip brilliantly. They do however make a litle road noise but nothing to bad. Lasted quite well too Thumbs Up!

Have a look here Nige

Coming from Falkens, which are exceptionally quiet, anything else will be loud, but I fancy Proxys might be a shock by comparison.

It's a shame Falkens tram line so badly on a car that's prone to it.

So we want...

Cheap.  But good performance all round
Long life.  But good grip levels
Quiet.  But good feel and stability
Grip. But loads of miles

There's 4 compromises straight away. Bit like loads of peformance from your petrol engine but wanting economy as well. Something's got to give.

So what's the concern with ku39's?.... Unproven?
