Brought a set of MV6 17's, needed a refurb so I thought i'd go Black, My CDX is gold, so I thought Black wheels would suit.

Washed them down
...

Damage ;

...
...

Damage before
...

Sanded/ground down and filled

...

Primed up - Good as new Smiley

...

Left = Sprayed Black       Right = Rubbed and lacquered

...

All four finished

...

...

Not the greatest but DIY and a good result in my eyes.

Will stick them on the car tomorrow and upload a few pics  Thumbs Up!

I always wondered how people got their postcount so high! Now i know it's from pointless replies!

Thanks for the reply, did all that cost alot (cheaper than £250) not including your own labour of course! If so I might do my own wheels instead of getting them refurbed.

Thanks

Geoff, just as a comparison for you. I recently paid to have my wheels refurbed. I took the tyrs off the wheels, and had new ones fitted afterwards. It cost me £40 a wheel + vat (was £192, but with the vat rise, it'd be £200 now  Roll Eyes )

The refurb included the wheels being acid dipped, bead blasted, minor damage repaired, powder coated and lacquered. They came back looking exactly like they would from the factory!! I was proper impressed!!  Grin

Here's a pic for ya...

I'd say it cost me about £60 tops, Ideally they should be blasted and acid dipped but for now I'm happy with them, the finish is rock hard and they are getting a good pasting, about 100miles daily, wind, rain and knowing this country probably snow tomorrow. If it lasts then happy days, if not then I'll fork out for a company to refurb, but for now I'm happy enough Smiley
