Intermittant starting
22. Aug 2011 at 11:04

Morning all,

The last few weeks my mig has been failing to start. She turns over but fails to fire up Undecided

It doesn't happen all the time but enough to bother me now. Checked for codes - nothing showing.

Trying to remember other OOfer's with this problem, was the answer a crank sensor?

TIA  Thumbs Up!

Crank sensor would be my bet...  Thumbs Up! Easy and cheap enough to start with and does not always give codes when starting to fail...

Do you break V6's as often as TheBoy? Then you need tunnie's towing services, recovery costs are just the humiliation of being towed by 2/3's of an engine

I did, but only because the engine was not running, if I start it up, it doesn't show.

My mistake Jimbob, I mis understood that code  Roll Eyes

So does that mean that it IS the crank sensor or something more sinister? Undecided

Just out of curiousity, how do you know that? Is that because of the engine & year of the car?
Only reason I ask is I've seen on here that there are 2 different connectors, iirc.
Apologies if I've offended you with questioning your knowledge   Roll Eyes

Hi James,

Yeah, I'm laid up at the moment. I can hobble about and bend my knee about 45 deg, so getting there!!
Thanks for the offer of sorting it for me, thats great mate. I need to save for one first before I can do anything, but when I get it, I'll take you up on the offer if it's still open!

If there is anything I can do for you any time, let me know. May take me a while to hobble there though, lol.

Cheers mate!  Thumbs Up!
