Spare key help please
25. Aug 2011 at 18:24

I have an ex cop Omega. Only have one key for it and up to now it's not been a problem.

However I know need to get a spare for it.  Needless to say I first went to the local stealers to see just how much they wanted for getting a spare sorted.... Came out thinking I'd may as well take over the debt of a small country! Huh

Fortunately I have a spare fob, so I'm guessing that could be reprogrammed, along with getting a blank horseshoe blade.
Unfortunately though I don't have a pass for the car, hence where the problem is.

Can anyone offer advice on how or if I can get the key blade cut and where I could get the fob reprogrammed without paying a small fortune?

Though would prefer if I don't have to travel miles to have to get it done.

Thanks.

There are companies on eBay that will cut you a key using the key code from a Car Pass, I know you can have a key copied at a locksmiths but you'll still need your pass for the code (H****) to programme the fob to your car.  Thumbs Up!

First of all you will need a Car Pass for the Key Immobilizer Number etc
Buy a blank blade (with the horse shoe shaped top) from ebay. Most decent key cutters will cut the blkade for you.
You will need a Chip that sits in the Horseshoe, which then needs to be programmed with a Tech 2 when you have your Car Pass.
Once all that has been done you should be avble to Re sync your Fob to the car Thumbs Up!

Cheers for the advice  Thumbs Up! .

Guess I'll have to buy a pass from the dealers tomorrow for the job.

Anyone know who is the nearest person is on here with a proper Tech2, in order to reprogram the immobilizer.  I'm based in the Shropshire area.
