No, its poisonous (deadly to cats in particular) and iilegal to allow it to run off somewhere where it could end up in the drainage system. Drain it into a container of some description until you can find a means of safe/legal disposal. Wink

Wish I could get the local cats to drink mine then ... should I leave a dish of it out and hope ??? or add some tuna or chicken to tempt them ??

Am presently collecting half a carrier bag of cat shit off my gardens every week and I'm NOT impressed... bloody things don't even bury it now ... just shit and go leaving a mess and a stink.

Sad

I know you dont mean that Nige, your far too civilised to do that. Wink Roll Eyes
The smell and sweet taste of antifreeze is irresistible to cats, and it kills them slowly and painfully when they drink it.
Best way to prevent cat crap in your garden is to get yourself a cat. They wont crap in their own garden and wont let other cats do so either. Thumbs Up! Grin

The smell and sweet taste of antifreeze is .....

Not applicable to Vauxhall's pink antifreeze. Wink It's the most foul, bitter tasting stuff I've ever tasted (next to Watney's Red Barrel  Grin)

There's a useful button on the end of the windscreen wiper stalk - it cancels the fault messages.

I've been getting the Coolant Level messages for a year or more, and repeated wiggling of the sensor top has failed to cure the problem.  Quite honestly, I'd rather live with the problem than invest the cash and time in fixing it.  Of course, on the day I get a hose failure, I'm totally b*****ed, but wotthehell...

For the first few years I had the car, the temperature gauge read a more or less constant 95o.  The last garage bodger but two did something or other to it to do with the cooling system, and the temperature varies a bit now.  Probably needs a new thermostat or something.  I'll live with that problem too.

Hi, i have the same problem, what i would like to ask is can the hoses be clamped and the tank be drained (using syringe) then removed and replaced with a new one, antifreeze topped up and clamps removed (if done this way would the system need bleeding) or does the system have to be drained fully? Thanks

That's how I did mine, simples. Thumbs Up! Thumbs Up! Thumbs Up!

My previous meg had the same from day bought, shorted out connector on bottom of reservoir (without draining or anything). When sold informed new owner to just check level by eye now and then like I had. Result
