Hi

I bought an automatic omega, but got tired of it, so i put in a manual gearbox instead.
And after this, my cruise control stopped working, I have bought new brake switch and clutch switch but I can't find a cable to plug on the clutch switch, and the plug for the brake switch is missin 2 cables (the old one had 2 connections, but the new has 4.) have you guys ever done this?

have you changed the dash., there is a board on the rev counter that lincs to the speedo, that will need to be changed., i got auto dash and the board numbers are differnt, swaped them over and worked fine. also you will need the wiring from a manual and take out the wires you have in yours even the control.

Not personally, but PM a member called SEREK who has. Am not 100% sure about the dash as I have a number of V6 dash units and (from the same model years)) the part numbers between auto and manuals are the same.

What engine and year are you trying to do?

Ok, I've been out and looked at my collection of instrument clusters.

From 98/98 cars the units are all identical. I have compared 3 units, a 2.5 manual & auto and a 3.0 auto. The ONLY differences are the date codes. The manual one even has the bulb fitted for the auto sport mode light.

All the instrument panels worked perfectly prior to the cars being broken.

IIRC the instrument panels changed slightly when MFL was introduced - so perhaps it was the earlier cars and non-V6 ones that were different between auto and manual. Thinking about it there shouldn't need to be any difference and it makes things easier on the production lines to have as few clusters as possible.

Hi, I've also upgarded to my auto to manual. Have you done the needed electrical modifications? - related to cruise control?Mine is working fine after I've installed missing component and made thesoldering.
I've made according to the instructions from Maintenance section.

Did you need to replace the instrument cluster or just modify the wiring for clutch & brake switches?

No need to replace instrument cluster. It's a 3.0 drive by wire car. Only clutch switch was needed with the connector side, some cables, and soldering.
Here is the needed wiring diagram:
