Wetness at bottom of door...
06. Sep 2011 at 20:06

I have noticed recently that the front passenger door gets wet at the bottom where the trim ends(rounded bit of the side pocket and right up to the speaker.
All trim intact, the skin behind is intact and can not find any likely causes. Has anyone ever had a similar problem after a lot of rain?

where the trim ends under the door has not rusted but is loose and the end is not in contact with the door but still attached about an inch from the end.

Lou, can you post a picture showing the wetness you mean?

Don't worry about the 'jokey' replies, it's not you they're taking the pee out of.

There are drain holes on the bottom edge of the door shuts. Might be blocked?

Well, if the door rubber seals when it's closed, only leaves the door membrane leaking.

Take the door card off and get the hose pipe out...?

Rubber seal around door can get old and shrink and then let water in. It doesnt poor in, rather just seeps through where the rubber doesnt quite make a tight seal, but can leak in at the bottom of the door. A good coat in vaseline for a few days should help. Just make sure you clean off the excess before anyone rubs against it. Bit old school, but is in the book for aircraft rubber seals. Cheap fix if it works.
