3.2 Manifolds

Just to confirm - swapping the 3.0 Exhaust Manifolds for 3.2 Exhaust Manifolds requires no parts (except for a new 3.2 Exhaust manifold gasket).
So all the pipes etc., are in the same place - it is just a literal swap?

You`ll have to remove/blank off the SAI, reposition EGR and keep connected to prevent fault code and IIRC shave app. 5mm from the manifold to cat flanges

Cheers.
Also is there an advantage with cooling if I replace my 3.0v6 coolant bottle with a 2.5td one?
And would it be a simple case of swapping them?

Someone was putting a 2.5TD coolant bottle into his v6 Omega as an upgrade if I recall correctly.

Procedure is something like remove the throttle body coolant pipes and then fit a 2.5td coolant bottle. Must also blank the coolant bridge outlet.

The effect of all this means cooler intake temperatures as the coolant isn't passing through the throttle body, therefore it is not heating it up.

I can not remember properly now, nor can I find the explanation again.
Just wondered if someone had done this and what were the effects (is the above text true)?

Then again, It was late at night, maybe I mis-read it.

I would imagine they are trying to bypass the coolant feed through the throttle bodies as they think it'll keep the intake air temp lower.

Why would it need a TD bottle for that mod anyway though?

Fixed that for you. Roll Eyes

There really is nothing to be gained from stopping the heated throttle body (other than an iced up throttle).

If you block the outlet from the coolant bridge you will run into serious trouble as it's this that bleeds air from the engine's water jackets.

Well I did say where to start...   Grin
Why fit 3.2 manifolds?
Why block off throttle body cooling?
Wtf does fitting a different bottle affect anything at all ?
Why not fit a bottle from the v8 model?

Cheers,
This forum is a good way to expel all the 'moding' myths that are around on other forums.

Now if some asks about coolant bottle/throttle mod, you know which thread to point them to. Grin
