nothing more satsifying than doing the job yourself....you know it's been done properly then.

I use an eazy bleed kit, easy to use and no pumping of the pedal....

As for the dealers changing fluid, hmmmm how can i put this...

I used to work in a Vaux dealers, on more than one occasion i saw a mechanic drawing the old fluid out of the reservoir with an old petrol pump and then topping it up with clean stuff!!!!

yup, agreed (esp as it looked like those scumbags at Crownhill Vx emptied reservoir and refilled, rather than proper bleed Angry

) - but I didn't want to break pad sensor until it needs renewing (few weeks). When I change the discs (pattern, keep warping) and pads I shall rebleed that one caliper...

Hmmm thanks for that - has inspired me to do my own. Always thought my pedal has excess travel (although MarkDTM says they're meant to be like that).

I have a simple kit that is basically just a tube like you used but with a one way valve on the end. Means you can just pump the pedal without worrying about nipple tweaking cos you can't suck anything back up. Good for the first flush of old fluid, but I still do the last few pumps 'properly' i.e. with the spanner and a second person, as even with this one way valve kit you can, i believe, suck air in via the thread of the slackened nipple.
