Bosch Aeroblades every time. Been using current one's for a couple of years and still clearing the screen superbly and silent operation. Thumbs Up!

Whatever the motor factors have.

I replace mine once a year before the MOT. I use them maybe twice a year. After months of baking sun and no rain they deteriorate somewhat!

Valeo whenever I can get them.

Soft and silent (but get damaged easily by frost)

Just cleaned my screen inside and out (for the first time with this car)

Ended up using white spirit to soften the tarry film and then flash floor cleaner to remove it. Driving into the sun with a fine drizzle falling is almost a pleasure now.

I had hoped that the comically named 'rain sensitive wipers' would become more sensitive with a clean screen but it hasn't happened.

At least with a clean screen and new wipers I can see with a wet screen (when the wipers aren't wiping) and the noise is reduced when they keep wiping a dry screen Angry

vinegar? That green Mr muscle glass cleaner? Several applications and scrub the glass clean with kitchen towel until it no longer dirtys the towel, use something guaranteed to be grease free? Wipe the blades too.....maybe?

My old cdx screen, when clean didnt need wipers at speed. The drops just balled up and ran up the screen. New screen on this car has some sort of coating meaning the water spreads out rather than running off. No smears, when clean.

Also car washes can give a funny film. The one near Chesham gave a film that made it look foggy for a second after each pass of the blades. It went after half a bottle of screen wash though.

I find working on the engine or removing the scuttle, i often lean on the screen as its easier on my back. Then wonder why the screen is smeared next time i drive it.

I tried the Mr Muscle last week with kitchen roll. Gave it a good 3-4 cleans. Yes its better, but still not great by a long shot  Sad

Dont use car washes, and I aint been leaning on the windscreen as far as I know.  Undecided

Did think about trying rainex, any thoughts?

Clean your windscreen with isopropyl  alcohol (ipa)
Works a treat to remove the waxy film from car/jetwashes. Also , apply to a rag & wipe new wipers before fitting. The rubber has a film of mould release agent on it from the manufacturing process. If you don't clean it off , it ends up on your windscreen. Thumbs Up!

I've got the same smearing problem on mine, and using cheapo factor blades which at best can only be described as 'barely adequate'. I have tried the usual 'quick fixes' including vinegar, foaming glass cleaner, neat meths (drink it then blow on the glass LOL) to no avail and I found 'RainX' nowhere near as good as claimed. I am going to get some Aeroblades asap and I will give Bourne's tip of Isopropylene a try before fitting them Thumbs Up!
