Nearly pranged the Beastie this morning.

Very light frost on the windscreen, cleared in seconds, temp said +2 degrees. If you turn left out of my drive the road carries on round to the left (some of you know it) & the camber is pronounced. 5 am dark still asleep, halfway round the front end went straight ahead towards the kerb & a telegraph pole (avoid where possible..they don't move on impact). Could'nt steer out or brake so did the old fashioned cadence breaking out of desperation & steered right, gradually the front came round but it was too close for comfort. Had i braked the ABS would'nt have been worth a light. Tomorrow i'm gonna fly round so the back end lets go...much easier & more fun.
     Caution does'nt pay!!!! Cool Cheesy

Roll Eyes Don`t become a statistic; or you`ll end up with that condescending tosspot 'Alistair Stewart', saying; "just look at this hapless motorist going skating" on police, camera, action. Grin

Glad you managed to avoid it Guy..... Thumbs Up!

I found my rear end going sideways this morning under slow acceleration having just dropped off Miss Vamps, took my sandbags out at the weekend.... Roll Eyes Roll Eyes Roll Eyes

On this Omega I have found the ABS more of a hindrance than a help and I have driven enough cars over many a year to know it is not my driving style, and don't have the same problem in the estate; in fact the estate has been a much better car in all the snow and ice.....

You forgot the "I thought you had to be 4 times over the limit to hit a telegraph pole".

Oh, no. He didn't say that, did he?  Lips Sealed

Slid backwards 75yds down a Devon lane hill this morning. Had to laugh as forward progress turned to reverse. Took 35 mins to get off the sheet ice I finally stopped on...  couldnt even stand up on it, progress finally made by putting one side in the ditch a bit.

I just washed it the other day and now its plastered in mud up to the door bottoms.     Grin

Drive carefully folks - as nearly front ended by a loony in a Golf who roared towards me at around 40 about 5 mins later, lost traction and slid 30 yards, pleased to say he ended up in a bush about 3 foot from my right side, one finger salute and I was on my way   Grin
