Noisy tappet?
30. Mar 2011 at 20:47

Hi all, the car has suddenly started with a fairly loud tappet like noise when its cold. What is the best remedy please? Is it a case of a couple of quick oil changes or would an additive help with or without extra oil changes.
Many thanks      Al

If it is the Hydrolic Lifters some Wynns Lifter Treatment will help.

It isn't the exhaust manifold ticking when cold then going quiet when warm is it?

Cheers Darth,   Its not the manifold, that was ticking anyway just not got round to sorting it. Fairly certain its a lifter, just never had a problem with a hyd one before. My old escort you just nip them up and the noise goes away. Is it just a case of following the idiot guide on the wyynns?   Al
