Does CCr 600 have "aux in" connector.
16. Jul 2011 at 22:25

Hiya fellas, as per title really. Due to my CD changer being "Donald" and the car only being used for towing caravan holiday duties, was wondering if the CCR600 has an "aux in" socket (no Audio handbook). The thought being that i can use the "line out" from a portable CD player instead of one of those "CD/cassette converter" jobs. If someone can advise which cable to buy, or has one for sale then that would stop me buying a cassette jobbie.
Any advice much appreciated Thumbs Up!

No, it doesn't have, but you can make it, if you are a bit of "electric" and have an hour of free time...I did it and it's playing nice.

Hiya fella, cheers for that. Would you happen to know the pins/connectors you wired the lead to? Thanks Thumbs Up!

If you still have your radio code it won't be a problem. You neee to take radio out and disassemble covers. If you have will to do that I can post you pictures of what more you have to do. And you need "female aux"

Its worth bearing in mind that this modification does nothing to match the impedances or levels of any signals, and has the potential to seriously damage both the head unit and the aux device.

Whilst it may work for an electronics engineer who is mindfull of the limitations, I certainly would not recommend it to anyone else.

I appreciate what you're saying Dave. Having seen the "remove case" part I've decided to go with the "CD/cassette" adapter option..... may get a bit of "hiss" which could be factored out, but at the end of the day, the car is only going to be used for holidays so playing safe. All my 4 & 6 yr old want is music Grin Thanks for the concern & heads up.  Cheers fellaThumbs Up!

P.s I'm an apprentice trained HNC electronis guy doing BMS systems for last 20yrs....but can't be arsed!!

I"ll put some pics of  it on, but not before tomorow. If you're a bit into electric you"ll see it"s very simple and it still works nice on mine. Only catch is you need a blank cassette inside to make radio think it's cassette playing. Press button for radio/cdc/cassette - last one is aux. In meantime please go to newbie area and introduce yourself to the others, they will apriciate it Thumbs Up!
